Just as the clocks fell back so did I! My schedule has been wild with work, activities, side projects, and saying yes to different requests. I recognized that I have been overextending and over exhausting myself. Yes I was having fun, but having a jam-packed schedule is exhausting. My energy levels were dropping, and as I recognized that for 3 weeks straight when anyone would asked how I was doing my response was, “I am tired and drained,” I knew I needed to take a step back.
I began to reschedule hang outs, committed to less projects, spent more time home alone relaxing (taking baths, watching movies cozy in bed, listening to music, and writing poetry), and I decreased the amount of dance classes I attended. Even this past week I gave myself a self-care day and went to the beach. I enjoyed the sound of the waves, the sun on my face, and the seasonal Winter Bliss Coffee and cheese jalapeño bagel from PHILZ Coffee. I had a treat I enjoyed at a place that brings me clarity and peace.
I am doing my best to be more intentional with my time, and insuring that I am moving with more balance, because there are so many things I want to do, but I need to slow down. I have concluded that I can’t say yes to everything because I do need proper sleep and rest! So, please take care of yourselves this fall and during the holiday season, make space for you to rest.

Poem:
You are beautifully gifted
Wonderfully made
No one has what you have
No one is the same
Similar to you maybe that’s true
But the magic you possess is only in you
One of kind and made to exist
No one can take what’s yours
So don’t rush because you won’t miss
