Happy Black History Month! This month I am bringing you braiding hair styles.
I am that person that changes their hairstyle every week, if not shorter, but I have my reasons. Firstly, I have dandruff, and so a fresh wash is necessary. Also my thick hair needs constant moisture, especially on my ends, so I need to have direct access to my strands. This basically leads to weekly care, and often times a weekly install.
Since I do my own hair, I only have to pay for the braiding hair, because my hands equal free labor. Then I give myself a nice set up that includes tea or coffee, and my iPad on the bathroom counter turned to a Sermon, a Podcast on Youtube, or a TV show.
I do a lot of different braid looks. I use straight, wavy, and curly braiding hair, but I do not always install them the traditional way. I tend to do the rubber band method, but sometimes I braid my hair, add in leave in conditioner on my ends and then braid over it with braiding hair, again not traditional, but it has been saving my ends. Doing my hair like this has been helping me to trim less when I get my 4-month hair trim, and sometimes I just need a hair dusting. You will see exactly what I mean in the before and after pictures below.
As for braiding hair I usually get my hair from two places, Beauty Club Plus in Rancho Cucamonga, CA or Amazon. Although, lately I haven’t been wanting to drive far to the Beauty Club so Amazon has been saving me! All looks below are from Amazon, and all braiding hair are linked below each picture.
